Choosing to stay-at-home to be the primary caregiver to your own children should be supported and encouraged by all levels in society, especially by our leaders! Marriage is all about; choosing to put someone elses needs and desires above your own. Having children is a further extension of that commitment. If there is a mom and a dad in the home, then it is best for the children if one of the parents is the homemaker. Children need stable homes and a structured family life more then the latest gadget or name brand clothes. Kids need more interaction with their parents everyday and less institutional-surrogate parents, i.e.) daycare, preschool, after school programs on top of public education. Children spend very little time daily with their own parents. Single moms cant do it without these things, but those who are married, should make it their priority to keep one in the home to be the caregiver and anchor of the home.
