Chorus is New Zealands largest telecommunications infrastructure - TopicsExpress

Chorus is New Zealands largest telecommunications infrastructure company. Crews now laying Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) fibre lines across the country. If you reside in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch you might bump into them some of which are manned by experienced Filipino linesmen, installers and trouble shooters who have done the same kind of work in other countries with similar mega-scale fibre line roll-out projects. The company plans to deliver UFB to more than 830,000 homes and businesses across New Zealand. To achieve it, Chorus is installing a completely new fibre network – from equipment in the exchange, to the network in your street and finally the connection into your home or business. The company first needs to build and test the network in your street and when that’s done you can place an order for a UFB-based service with your internet service provider (ISP) of choice. A Chorus technician will then come and bring the new network from the street to your home or business but may also need to install new cables and equipment in your property. The link provided below directs you to Chorus NZ’s network capability map which shows what broadband services its network can support, and planned services including ultra-fast broadband. Its indicative only, so you’ll need to talk to your ISP to confirm what actual services you can get. https://chorus.co.nz/maps
