Chris Arnold, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2006, was expected to be wheelchair-bound within five years. As a former athlete, this news came as a shocking blow. Even though MS has taken many things from Chris, he has decided to take control of his fitness and swimming has become an important part of Chris’s daily life! Having been an excellent swimmer before his diagnosis, Chris took on a new challenge even though he could no longer swim. With the help of an aquatic fitness instructor, Chris has been training for several months to participate in Swim for MS, the signature fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. Chris has committed to swim 30 laps in 100 days to raise $2,500 to help support MSAA’s free programs and services. Support Chris by donating to his Swim for MS challenge: support.mymsaa.org/site/TR/Events/SwimforMS2012-13?px=1514099&pg=personal&fr_id=1150 Another inspiring story from our friends at MSAA and their Swim for MS initiative!
