Chris Katongo: The Pressure Is Not On Me But the Younger Players Chipolopolo Boys captain Chris Katongo has said the pressure is not on him but the younger players to challenge for his position. The evergreen captain rolled back the years on Saturday as he produced arguably his best performance since the African Cup of Nations triumph in Gabon last year. The Zambia No.11 provided an assist for Jacob Mulenga’s acrobatic goal in the 36th minute before he nodded home a Chisamba Lungu cross in the second half to give the home side 2 goal caution before Jacob and Mbesuma added Zambia’s third and fourth goal respectively. Asked if he felt the pressure to perform, the China based responded, “The pressure is not on me but the younger players to challenge for my position. I have achieved and its there for all to see. So mine is to keep going. After the weekend’s performance, there’s already talk of the new guard taking over with Fwayo Tembo, Chisamba, Nathan Sinkala, Emmanuel Mayuka, Mukuka Mulenga and the injured Stopilla Sunzu seen as Zambia’s symbol of present and future.
