Chris McDaniel released the following statement in regards to Reverend Stevie Fielder admitting that the Cochran campaign paid him to round up Democratic voters to vote in the Republican Primary runoff. The claims made by Reverend Fielder are direct criminal allegations against the Cochran campaign, and its not the first time allegations of criminal conduct have been made against his camp. The Democratic Party Chair in Hinds County alleged that Pete Perry asked Democrats to help him break the law by asking them to accept Democratic voters who voted in the June 3 Democratic primary when they tried to vote in the GOP runoff on the 24th. Given this track record, we believe there will be additional allegations of criminal conduct. Our volunteers have already found more than 3,300 voting irregularities, and they havent even examined poll books in half of Mississippis counties. We have yet to examine 18,000 absentee ballots and the poll books in dozens of counties, where were sure to find many more irregularities. The goal here is to root out corruption in the state of Mississippi and to maintain the integrity of the election process in order to ensure that Mississippians can have faith in their electoral process and in their government.
