Chris Tsambis History: When I was in 3rd grade I went to a Catholic School in New York. I had a uniform and everything. The 3rd grade teacher I had would often play music for us while we studied. Sometimes hed play Foreigner, or Journey. Once or twice he played Mike and the Mechanics. But primarily he would play Survivor Music (Official FB Page). Specifically the album Vital Signs. So when I moved to Georgia in the 4th grade, I didnt know anybody. And my parents took me to a Camelot music and let me buy my first cassettes (yes, this is before CDs were ubiquitous). The first 2 tapes I ever owned were Survivor and Genesis. And I wore them out. Anyway, a few years later I was in high school. And even though it was the early 90s and I was totally immersed in the music associated with those years, my buddy Jason Hester and I kept the Survivor fire burning. We devoured any Survivor material we could find. Greatest Hits VHS? Check. Respectable Discography collection? Check. (Theres more than just Eye of The Tiger and Vital Signs, you know) Seen them live? Ch-- Well, after today, 20 years and a 6 hour drive later, well be able to check that one off the list too. And get this: They have BOTH lead singers. The guy who sang Eye of The Tiger (Rocky III) AND the guy who sang Burning Heart (Rocky IV). OH! And get this!!! Oscar nominated band STARSHIP are opening. It goes without saying that we will be Knee Deep in the Hoopla tonight in Somewhere, Tennessee.
