Christ defended the actions of the notorious woman who anointed him with expensive perfume. Even Judas Iscariot described her action as a waste. All the holy guys were embarrassed and some big shots questioned the credibility of Christs spirituality. Christ defended her service of worship, without condoning her sins, which were common to all her critics. Elsewhere he saved another woman from mob justice by exposing the hypocrisy of the self-righteous accusers. Today somebody needs salvation from the self-righteous mob. The mob remembers all your sins, but is envious of your acceptable service to God. We serve God as He permits and allows - not as we please. If God approves your service to Him, that should settle it in your mind. The Lord permitted a service that was too low for the self-righteous and too expensive for the greedy. God decides how we come to Him. God and His ways are unpopular with the world. The self-righteous are still the same today. They will attack and embarass anyone who dares to stand up for God and His will to bless His people. If there is a service you must do; if they is a step you must take; if there is a position you must take - all for the sake and glory of God - expect fierce opposition. Many wish to have the glory you give to God, thus, they slander your efforts. Christ told them to leave her alone. God will vindicate your service to Him. Dont be weary of well-doing.
