Christ is My Refuge How many times in my life have I sought the Lord and poured out my heart to Him? Beginning with when I was a young boy of around 6 or 7 years old, I have prayed daily to God for guidance and help in my life. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a Stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your Name trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You. Psalms 9:9-10 (NIV). We think that we are so smart and able to guide ourselves in life; but, none of us are able to do what only God can do for us. We are born with a void in our lives that can only be filled by the presence of the Almighty God, which we receive when we come to Jesus for forgiveness of our sins and eternal salvation. For My Fathers will is that everyone who looks to the Son (Jesus) (Yeshua) and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I (Jesus) will raise them up at the last day. John 6:40 (NIV). God and Jesus make Their presence in us through the Third Person of the Trinity, The Holy Spirit. And I (Jesus), will ask the Father, and He (God), will give you another Advocate to help you and be with you forever: The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him (Holy Spirit), because it neither sees Him, nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17 (NIV). Our mighty God, Who created us, lives in us when we receive Jesus (Yeshua) into our lives as our Savior and Lord. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus; because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit, Who gives life, has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 (NIV). So, if the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 (NIV). There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abrahams seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:28-29 (NIV). When we take our refuge in God, we find that wonderful peace that the world seeks and cannot find. You (God) will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV). The blessed Holy Spirit, which dwells in believers in Christ, sustains us and gives us the much sought for peace that is impossible to find outside of Christ. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh; but, are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But, if Christ is in you; then, even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him (God), Who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He Who, raised Christ from the dead, will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit, Who lives in you. Romans 8:9-11 (NIV). The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; He (God) delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him. Psalms 37:39-40 (NIV). Where are You looking for Your refuge? Money and riches will never fulfill that void in You. That void of knowing that something is missing from Your life will never be satisfied with the temporal things of this temporal life. He said: The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my Deliverer; my God is my rock, in Whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my Savior: from violent people, You save me. 2 Samuel 22:2-3 (NIV). When the world comes down on You, and depression visits You, and You find that nothing satisfies in this world; then, remember that God is waiting for You to call on Him. Surely, God is my help; the Lord is the One Who sustains me. Psalms 54:4 (NIV). Thankfully, we have a place to run to, a fortress and a rock, a Deliverer, one Who loves us so much that He (Christ) died for us. The Name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 (NIV). Thank God for the Light that has come to us in Christ Jesus! I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness; I will take hold of Your (Jesus) (Yeshua) hand. I (God) will keep You (Jesus) and will make You to be a covenant for the people, and a light for the Gentiles; to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison, and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. Isaiah 42:6-7 (NIV). Come to Me (Jesus) (Yeshua), all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV).
