Christchurch police are hunting for a man who tried to rob a dairy this evening. Police say a man armed with a handgun entered the Featherstone Dairy on the corner of Harewood Road and Harris Crescent just before six o’clock. He demanded cash from the shopkeeper, but left empty handed and on foot. He was last seen heading west on Harris Crescent. The offender is described as a Caucasian male, wearing grey track pants, black ‘Element’ hoodie with a blue t-shirt underneath, black balaclava and black gloves. He was carrying a black and red back pack. The firearm is described as a black single barrelled handgun. Police believe this is an isolated incident. Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Christchurch Police.
