Christi Lynn Rougoor is an artist born and raised on a rural farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Though multi-talented, Christine is most recognized for her artistic flare. Christine has throughout her lifetime won numerous artistic awards such as the Trisha Romance Award of Excellence in 2005. Upon graduation, Christine continued to pursue her artistic career attending Brock University in fall 2005. In December 2008, during her fourth year of her Concurrent Education Intermediate/Senior Honours Art and French studies, an unexpected turn of events permanently altered Christines life rendering her a paraplegic. Determined, Christine returned to school as a disabled student, completed her degree with first class standing, and became a newly certified Ontario teacher. Passionate about her studies Christine continued to achieve her Masters of Education focusing on teachers with mobility challenges and ingeniously incorporating art into her research. Christine continues her profound passion for the arts and continues creating and exhibiting her work for others to enjoy.
