Christiaan Frederik Beyers. 1869-1914 During the ABW, Commander of the Northern Boer Forces, Chairman at the Vereeniging Peace Talks. Co-Founder of Het Volk. Founder of the active Citizen Force, Commandant General of the Union Defense Force. When War against Germany was declared, he resigned.
