Christian Democrat MP Fred Nile has teamed up with Save Our Rail and Labor candidate, Tim Crakanthorp to demand that work on replacing heavy rail with light rail should be stalled. Tim Crakanthorp has already stated that it should be cancelled altogether. There are already dozens of contracts awarded or about to be awarded for the work after two years of planning. You cant just hit a pause button. We strongly believe that stalling would kill the project off altogether and Newcastle would miss out yet again. In complete contrast, Independent candidate, Karen Howard, points out that this issue has been around for decades and after 40 reports, it is time to get on with the job.
