Christian Love Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Romans 13:10 It is not difficult to find a true Christian man in a crowd of sinners. He is the one shining like a star in the darkness of night. He is the one emanating the love of Jesus. Others can be cursing and reveling, controlled by a drunken spirit, but the Christian man is of clean speech, solid footing, and controlled by the Holy Spirit. The love of the Lord shines through him. Pastor Rowland Hill, known for his straightforward sermons, shed some light on Christian love. If the sun shines on dull bricks or stones, they reflect none of its beams. There is nothing in them capable of reflection. Nor is there, in an ungodly man, any natural power of reflecting the light of God. But let the sun shine upon a diamond and see what rays of sparkling beauty it emits. It is similar in the Christian who has the graces of the Spirit. When God shines on his soul, beams of celestial loveliness are reflected by him on the world. Cultivate a spirit of love. Love is the diamond amongst the jewels of the believer’s breastplate. The other graces shine like the precious stones of nature, with their own peculiar luster and various hues; but the diamond is the center of every grace and virtue. The Bible testifies that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ will be known by their love.
