Christian Media Communiqué THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROMERICAN EMPIRE – Part V In the last installment of this work, we reviewed the transition to the populist phase of history in the last two thousand years, from the era of absolute power in the hands of dynasties, embodied by the European kings who reigned on the continent, into an age when the people sought to participate in the process of civilization. This phase of prophecy was represented by the sequence in which the lion kingdom, the first of four beast empires seen in a vision by Daniel, saw its eagle’s wings “plucked” off: “And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings were plucked….” (Daniel 7:4). The lion kingdom, as the “king” of beasts, shows the decline of the era of kings – a phase of history which was epitomized by the American Revolution in 1776– the “eagle’s wings” which were plucked from the British lion. In Part IV of the present work, we noted the historical fact that four populist revolutions occurred as the direct rule of royalty waned, and in every case except the revolt in the American colonies, the rising power killed their king. The lion in the vision is described as standing on its feet like a man, in what is called the rampant position. The picture of a lion standing upright is exceedingly common in English heraldry, but it is also seen in various coats of arms among royal families across Europe. The English king was spared in the clash with the Americas, as he recapitulated the notorious lunacy of Nebuchadnezzar seen in Daniel’s fourth chapter, widely documented in the account of the recurring madness ofGeorge III – the British sovereign who lost the crown’s colonial holdings. The earlier English revolution, in which Charles I was beheaded, was an exclusively British affair, just as the French revolution, in which Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI lost their heads, was a nationalist upheaval. The killing of the Romanovs was the last of the four and, unlike the English, French, and American revolutions, it gave rise to the global scourge of communism in 1917, as the Reds came to power in Russia – the bear kingdom which succeeded the English lion: “And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh” (Daniel 7:5). Historians are divided as to which Communist despot caused the deaths of more people, Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union, or “Chairman” Mao Tse Tung, the Asiatic mass murderer who butchered his way to the top, in the grossly misnamed “cultural revolution,” in China. Stalin, a native Georgian, starved the farmers in the Soviet Union’s “bread basket” of the Ukraine, as he sought to destroy private farms, while simultaneously feeding adjacent state populations, in order to perpetuate the fraud that Communism was a viable system. He is credited with the deaths of approximately 50 million human beings, as his Satanic policies destroyed “much flesh.” The rallying cry of power to the people masked the inherent evil in the populist movements – an important thread of identification in the four revolutions of Russia, England, France, and America just cited. It’s noteworthy to recognizethese same four powers, will all resurface in the four heads of the third sequential kingdom, imaged as a leopard: “After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl: the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it” (Daniel 7:6). As the leopard kingdom of the Third Reich of Germany recapitulated the rapid acquisition of territory, seen in the third kingdom of Greece in the parallel of the ancient set of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome, the “dominion” which was given to Adolph Hitler compelled the four populist powers of England,France, Russia, and America to unite against the menace of German fascism. One of the more striking parallels between the two quartets which were separated by the cross of JESUS CHRIST, was found in the third kingdom ofAlexander the Great (the brass kingdom in Daniel 2), which was particularly noteworthy in the astonishing rapidity of Alexander’s military mobility, a capability which was re-enacted in Hitler’s Blitzkrieg warfare – a German word denoting lightning. To this very day, the modern American world sees the term blitz, regularly utilized as a tactic in the sport of football, as the word describing an all out, rapid fire, attack on the opposition. The speed and agility of the leopard aptly represents this violent stage of world events. As the ancient quartet saw the abrupt death of Alexander the Great – the third kingdom – also described in the Prophet Daniel’s 8th chapter, we see yet another amazing prophetic parallel. Biographers tell us Alexander’s career, which was one of the most aggressive attempts at world dominion in history, lasted 12 years and 8 months. Modern biographers, charting the rise of Hitler, tell us the ill fated Fuhrer’s career last 12 years and 8 months, when both died abruptly without an heir. It is widely documented that Alexander, on his death bed, ceded his empire to the four generals who served him so faithfully. In this regard, the Prophet Daniel’s pronouncements concerning the forthcoming kingdom of Greece, not only predicted the rise and fall of Alexander, but also reach far into the future, anticipating Adolf Hitler: “And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king…and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones…” (Daniel 8:21, 8). When Alexander the Great died rather suddenly in Babylon, his four generalsdivided his kingdom, inaugurating a sequence of events predicted in Daniel 11. Likewise, his parallel, Adolf Hitler, imaged as the leopard in Daniel 7, died abruptly in a German bunker, and the four generals who warred against him, known as the Allies, divided his kingdom. Not only was Berlin divided with the construction of a great wall, the victory of the Allies culminated in the Quadripartite Agreement, in which Germany was ruled by the four previously mentioned populist powers of England, France,Russia, and America, for several years. One of the more interesting aspects of the prophetic parallels system of Bible Prophecy, is related to events which are occurring even now. In the ancient set of kingdoms seen in Daniel 2 (the golden head of Babylon, the silver arms of the Persian Union, and the brass belly and thighs of Greece, and the iron legs of Rome), we learn these kingdoms will be turned into dust, never to return: “Then was the iron…the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them” (Daniel 2:35). This verse clearly shows the concept of the so called “Revived Roman Empire,” in which the European powers supposedly reunite to host the Antichrist, is a complete fiction. To this very day, numerous false prophetic systems, such as those offered by 7th day Adventism, the Rapture Cult, and others, continue to propagate the Scripturally inconsistent scenario of a “revived” Roman dominion. In sharp contrast, the four modern prophetic parallels of England (the lionkingdom), Russia (the bear), and Germany (the leopard), as well as America(the diverse beast), lose their dominion, but are allowed to continue: “As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time” (Daniel 7:12). The old adage, the sun never sets on the British Empire, is no longer true, but England has survived. The bear of the Soviet Union is gone, but Russia remains. The leopard of the Third Reich was defeated, but Germany continues to be a significant power. The diverse fourth beast, The United States of Romerica, is now entering yet another phase of the astonishing prescience recorded in Bible Prophecy -- but more will have to wait for our nextCommunique. -- James Lloyd [To Be Continued]
