Christian and Simi at HBO Headquarters last night for a screening of wonderful short films by and about disabled people in Russia and America [project description below]. Here we are with Jon Alpert of DCTV – the engine behind this program, and with Vic Calise, New York City Commissioner of the Mayors Office for People with Disabilities, the host for the evening. The second photo shows some of the filmmakers and representatives of the project on stage before the screening. Media Enabled Musketeers is a program for American and Russian citizens who have disabilities and for filmmakers who are interested in disability issues. The goal is to produce films that provide a deeper understanding of disability and to promote friendship between Russia and the United States.
