Christian friends are all eager for Easter Sunday. The joy of being Catholic (or Episcopal, Orthodox, Lutheran, etc.) versus other denominations is we experience the Easter Season- not just one day. Weve deprived ourselves for 40 days of Lent. Now, were immersed in the Triduum. Weve honored the Lords Supper, weve walked the Passion, weve closed the tomb, weve grieved. Tonight, on the most holy of nights, well sing of the Resurrection. Well bring back the word our souls have craved since Ash Wednesday: A*******. Well enter into 50 amazing days of Easter- not just one, culminating with Pentecost when the Holy Spirit founded our Church. On this night, let us pray for unity among Christians and that we will soon rejoice as One, ending division among denominations. Christ came to build one Church, not 40,000. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide us towards unity on this joyous feast that unites us in our Lord.
