Christians and Christian theologians spend a lot of time talking - TopicsExpress

Christians and Christian theologians spend a lot of time talking and writing about God. But that is precisely what the Buddha did not want his followers to do, according to the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. Instead, he wanted his disciples to practice samatha (stopping, calming) and vipasyana (looking deeply). Id like to see more sabbath (stopping, ceasing) and discipleship (looking, learning, living) in Christianity, wouldnt you? If so, I suspect there would be fewer talking heads and many more transformed hearts. There would likely be a renewal of the Church, too...the real Church, that is...that may just include, but not necessarily, the one that meets on the corner of Main and 1st Avenue South.
