“Christians are those who have faith and trust in Christ Jesus - TopicsExpress

“Christians are those who have faith and trust in Christ Jesus and we too suffer as the unsaved suffer. The reality is that suffering in our Christian walk can strain our faith and trust in God to its limits. We sometimes are caught off-guard, confused and full of questions, when pain, grief, persecution, troubles in our jobs, troubles in our marriages, troubles in our relationships or other forms of suffering strike. (1 Peter 4:12-19) Suffering of various forms like disease, death of a loved one, a difficult and prolonged illness, injury, grief and failure can come upon us by surprise, mount-up and attack our spirit, our hope and joy in Christ. But we are not crushed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-10) We are hard pressed when we experience severe heartbreak. We cry out to God in prayer. We say to God I can’t handle another setback. At times we are angry, bewildered and confused. At times our first question to God is why? How could God allow this to happen to me? I’ve often wondered how people cope with the trials and suffering of life without the strength found in God. A distraught father who was deeply grieved by the death of his son went to see a pastor and in anger he asked “Where was God when my son died”? The pastor with a calm loving spirit replied “The same place He was when His Son died” We are often surprised that God allows such deep afflictions to befall on us. As Christians we believe our suffering has a purpose; it helps us towards the end of our faith, our salvation of our souls. We experience pain and grief for a season. As Christians we view our suffering as meaning.” (Philippians 1:21-24, 1 Peter 1:6-9, Matthew 11:28-30) Do you want to understand and learn more?
