Christians as Peace Makers (Part 1) Matthew 10 The Sword of the Gospel 34.Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35.For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;… What we see hear and understand by the Holy Spirit is that Jesus did not come to bring about world peace but to turn the hearts of mankind back to his Creator. His cause then would automatically create a division as seen in Matthew 10. We are not called to bring world people or to be heroes of world peace but to be Ambassadors of Jesus Christ spreading the Gospel of righteousness, truth, love. The script has already been written and has to be fulfilled as it is fulfilling. I am leaving you with a gift Jesus said, peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So dont be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 Peace then is a gift that only God can give and is imparted from the heart of God.Those who belong to this world do not understand this peace because they have no fellowship with God so that cannot comprehend His love. We live in a day and age were weve become so obsessed with religion that we forget that true religion is not the latest fashion or trend but having a heart after God which is to feed the poor and helping widows and orphans in their times of distress. Its almost as if weve allowed our culture to dictate to us more than Gods Holy Spirit. We say Jesus Christ but do we clearly understand who He really was and how He brought about peace. Ephesians 2:3-4 states: In which we formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. 4.But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,… sent us Jesus Christ. Our peace treaty starts with us connecting with God first and then dwindles down to our peers. To be a peacemaker then, is to be a messenger of reconciliation. Jesus never attacked the sinner but the sin. We dont condone sin, we expose it
