Christians burnt down the library of Alexandria which housed millions of original papyrus scrolls from all over the world and also brutally killed Hypatia- a notable female teacher, philosopher and mathematician of the time. In the years to follow we see more and more religious leaders vying for power... the new christian leaders re-programmed the pagan converts to believe that women were the root cause of all evil and were to be no more respected than a dog. The world lost a sickening amount of ancient knowledge on that day when power became more important than sharing and building on the knowledge of our existence. Knowledge was no longer for the people- only the tyrants... which is beyond devastating because the world was just starting to come to a place of brilliance (socially, scientifically, morally etc etc) and was set back hundreds of years. They were teaching their knowledge for gods sakes! Do you know how long it took the leaders of cultures from all over the world to progress to this level and not to keep the secrets of the world to the elite? The history of many ages was lost forever so that a religious group could try and rule the world. This is only one example of why I have never prescribed to a particular religion. This is why I have never been a big fan of what is popular and what goes on in the mainstream collective. This is why I could have cared less about going to football games in high school and why I lacked school spirit and the such. I sometimes wonder if we, in America and everyone else in the rest of the world are truly on the verge of experiencing a tragedy like this. Problem is, the horror will probably slip right under our noses- it already is. Even if some know about it, even if thousands or millions know about it, by the time we realize it- it will be too late and the assault will be as clandestine as a knife to the back when you are sleeping. Please wake up.
