Christine Overbeck is a German designer, who is attending a Master in design at University of Applied Arts of Lucerne since 2013. “Drahdi”, her project for #MODA #FUTURIBILE, is a concept inspired by Bavarian sock knitting patterns in dialog with contemporary machines. Each pair of socks was handknitted by the intuitive feeling of the knitter. By exploring different techniques and researching, she has studied methods of combining those traditional working manners with highly technological machines. Her project concentrates on old traditional knitting patterns from central Europe, as she is not only attracted to the optical aesthetics of those patterns, but also in the cultural heritage associated to them. Christine Overbeck is collaborating with Bruno knitting company and Filpucci yarns company.
