Christmas, B, White Isaiah 9:2-7, Psalm 96, Titus 2:11-14, Luke 2:1-10 “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light. On those living in darkness, light has dawned.” Isaiah 9:2 That light from God, Beaming forth from that manager, A child of total innocence, Soon to pronounce all humanity, Innocent! No wonder the stories of a miraculous birth Came forth! No baby can possible shine that brightly, Making a clear path for all Even in the midst of abject darkness And yet there this child lies, Waiting for us to hold and cuddle, All the while cuddling us With arms far beyond fatigue, Planting soothing kisses on our foreheads The light broke forth, Shouting aloud that peace was our heritage, A constant pat on the back By this child in the manger As we stand tall in our quest for holiness And now we can see, The walls of evil torn asunder Regardless of our attempts to construct impenetrable ones Here we all stand, In the center of God’s love and grace “…The Lord is coming tom establish justice on the earth! The Lord will establish justice on the world rightly. The Lord will establish justice among all people fairly.” Psalm 96:13 “…glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen” Luke 2:20b Jim Wilson
