Christmas: On this day decades ago, I remember with family, waking - TopicsExpress

Christmas: On this day decades ago, I remember with family, waking up to the smell of coffee, seeing my grandmother sitting in the kitchen with my grandfather sipping coffee, talking and breakfast already on the table. Decades ago, the presents would be opened, the phone ringing off the hook with friends and relatives calling to say merry Christmas. Music of hat time would be my muse as well as the dances. For me, my family, friends, music, dancing and great books to read later that evening were my joy for the day. Decades later: my grandparents are in heaven, my dad is also gone. Many of those friends are still here yet they are gone, married, their own families and how the music is changed, the dances changed and how I am older, alone and wiser. This day is not for everyone. Many are alone due to divorce, families split due to distance or other issues, unemployment/under employment, hurt, anger, sadness as well as a place of darkness. Many lost loved ones due to the aforementioned but have transitioned and are not here anymore. I only ask that if you know someone who you know is alone this day, remember them, call them spend time with them. One day, it just may be you. Sondra
