Christmas Thursday December 25 John 1:1-14 It seems we know more about the Christmas story than does the gospel writer John. We know about the manger, the angels, Mary and Joseph, even the shepherds. Or maybe John did know, but chose to focus on what he saw as important - God coming into the world to dwell among us. When John says God’s own did not believe him, did not receive him, we know what John means. But let us put that aside today, and remember that into the midst of our winter the Light came. And when we receive Him, we, too, are born of God. Prayer: Creator God, you who sent John to be a witness, help us to be a witness to those around us this day. As we walk through this season of Advent, help us to bring the Light, so that all may come to know Him as the one full of grace and truth. Amen. Rev Jill Lowry, Chaplain
