Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. Not for the - TopicsExpress

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. Not for the presents and monetary things, but for the spirit of Christmas itself. Yet for many, its a depressing time for various reasons, mainly because of missing those who are no longer with us. I miss my parents all the time, and at Christmas especially. They were married on Christmas Day in 1944....today would have been their 70th Anniversary. So as I sit here thinking of them in the quiet of the morning, memories come flooding to mind of Christmases past with family and loved ones. Were a big bunch now, spread from Florida to South Carolina, to North Carolina, to Connecticut and Texas, yet were tightly knit. Thats because of who and what our parents were. They loved The Lord first and taught us by their example. So thankful for the assurance of salvation and eternity in Heaven where Ill see them again. Today amidst the exchanging of gifts, visits, food, family, football and the activities of celebration, let us remember what Christmas is all about. Its not called CHRISTmas for nothing. Without Christ, there would be no Christmas. Take a moment to remember in prayer those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, and those who are less fortunate. We all have so much to be thankful for. Merry Christmas!! May you know the true spirit of Christmas, and what its really all about Happy Birthday, Jesus!!
