Christmas has always been my favorite musical time of the year, so I am going to be posting some of my favorite Christmas songs, some of which will be familiar, and others that may be more obscure. First up, is one of my favorite singers of all time, Kathy Mattea. Her Christmas CD titled GOOD NEWS was one of my Moms favorites, and she always asked me to play this track for her (she never could figure out that CD player contraption!). I did this song as a tribute to Mother last year at College of the Mainlands Holiday Reception, and I was very touched yesterday when one of our board of trustee members asked me about the song I sang last year. And here I always thought people blocked my singing out of their head as soon as possible! :-) Its called Theres a New Kid in Town, and no, its not the Eagles song with the same title.
