November 25, 2014 – Walk through of the Festival of Lights Official dates for the Festival of Lights is November 28 – December 26, 2014/Closed December 24 and 25. - St. Albans City Park Now in its 27th season, the St. Albans Festival of Lights is a tradition not to be missed. Displays made of thousands of lights will delight the whole family. Stop and visit Santa nightly at the top of the hill. December 1, 2014 - 6:00 – 8:00pm Dinner with St. Nicholas First Christian Church (across from St. Albans High) Dinner, stories, and a visit from the patron of childhood. December 4 & 6, 2014 - 6a – 10pm Maranatha Fellowship (FLC: Gym) Christmas Around the World Event For more information, please contact Maranatha Fellowship. December 5, 2014 - 6:00pm Lighting of Olde Main Street and City Christmas Trees In homage to the old days when Olde Main Street was filled with Christmas cheer during the Season, we are lighting the tree and the street once again, and bringing the following activities and more: - 6:00 – 9:00pm Opening of Christmas Craft Village on Olde Main Street Across from Village Sampler. Enjoy crafts and goods from local artisans and vendors from here in the Kanawha Valley. - 7:00pm Rudolph’s 75th Anniversary Party The Alban Arts Center Since he first appeared as a book in Montgomery Wards stores (even before he was a hit song) Rudolph has been an integral part of Santa’s team. Come and enjoy some cake, entertainment, and fun with the most famous reindeer of all! December 6, 2014 – Come and spend the day with us in St. Albans! - 8:00am – 11:00am American Legion Santa Breakfast American Legion Hall on Pennsylvania Avenue. - 11a-5pm Christmas Craft Village on Olde Main Street - 2:30pm – St. Albans Annual Christmas Parade 6th Avenue to Olde Main Everybody loves a Christmas parade! Come and join us as we share the best of the Season with songs, performances, and pageantry befitting the Spirit of Christmas! - 6:00 – 9:00pm Historic Homes Tour (22nd Annual) Meet at the St. Albans Historical Society Building. Come and experience some of the history of our wonderful town. Feel at home for the Holidays! - 6:00pm – Cemetery Lighting Cunningham Memorial Park What better way than to remember a loved one who has passed at this most sacred time of the year. Thousands of candles lit in remembrance line the hillside. It is breathtaking. - 7:00pm – (tentative) Lighted Boat Parade Roadside Park, McCorkle Ave. The park is an excellent vantage point to enjoy the light displays coming down the Kanawha River. You don’t want to miss this event! December 7, 2014 – - 2-4pm American Legion Children’s Christmas Party American Legion Building, Pennsylvania Avenue December 8, 2014 – - 7pm Story Reading at the Historic C&O Depot Enjoy some stories, cookies, and trains! A great event for the kids (of all ages)! Donations of canned food or a new, unwrapped toy appreciated! December 9, 2014 – - 6-8pm St. Albans Public Library Christmas Party 6th Avenue, across from Rite Aid. Enjoy an open house at our local library with Santa and Mrs. Claus, story telling and more. December 12, 2014 – 5-8pm Cookies with Santa @ Alban Elementary Come out and support Alban Elementary and bring your Christmas list with you for a visit with Santa. December 12-14, 19-21, 2014 – - Annual Alban Christmas Production Friday and Saturday shows @ 8pm/Sundays @ 2pm. Alban Art Center, Olde Main Street The Alban Arts Center will be presenting for your pleasure one of the best loved of all Christmas stories – Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Join Ebeneezer Scrooge as he is visited by three ghosts on a Christmas Eve long ago. Will the old miser repent of his ways? Come and see! December 13, 2014 – - 11am -1pm Cookies and Crafts with Mrs. Claus at the Historic C&O Depot Fee: $5.00. Come and decorate cookies and make crafts with the best baker and crafter of them all – Mrs. Santa Claus! - 1pm-3pm Visit Santa at the Historic C&O Depot Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos and Christmas requests, all you need to do is bring a list and your camera. December 18, 2014 – - 6:00 – 8:00pm Coal River Group Christmas Open House Meadowood Park, Tornado. The Coal River Group has been doing remarkable work in the community. Join them as they welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus and the public to their facility on the Coal River for some old fashioned Christmas cheer in the country! December 19, 20, 22, 23, 2014 – - Evening Caroling Come out and join your friends and neighbors as they bring songs of the Season to those who might need it at home.
