Christmas is coming up and probably more talks about keeping - TopicsExpress

Christmas is coming up and probably more talks about keeping Christ in Christmas, this might get a lot of backlash but personally im not concerned. You cant Christianize non-Christians unless theyre born-again (which by definition would make them a Christian), why are we surprised at their attitudes? Romans 1 deals with that, they suppress the truth. Like one FB friend said lets be concerned with putting Christ back in Christianity. In many ways Christmas is treated like a 2nd Sunday, to the point where people think you have to celebrate it to be holy or pious. We should be dwelling upon Christ and the Gospel daily, how many people give lip-service to Christ on Christmas yet ignore him the other 364 days in a year? Also to say a person HAS to celebrate Christmas is venturing into legalistic territory since its not commanded in scripture nor is it a government command. So to summarize: - Why are we surprised the unbelieving world hates Christ? The Gospel is what will solve that not getting them to say Christmas instead of Xmas - There is no command to celebrate Christmas, therefore it is within Christian liberty to choose to celebrate it (like I will with my family this year) or to not celebrate it, and neither group should condemn the other. - The Gospel and life of Christ should be dwelt upon daily, not just on December 25th or Easter. Better to live a Christian life and forget about Christmas and Easter than to celebrate them and not be concerned the other days, for me every day is an opportunity to celebrate the message of Easter and Christmas. - If people are passionate about putting Christ back into Christmas, I admire their passion and desire to honor Christ and in no way am insinuating they are sinning, in fact I think they are honoring God in a way.
