Christmas remembrance: In 1994, Presbyterian Hospital opened its doors right next to Conbraco Industries, the company I was employed with at that time. As a welcoming and good neighbor, we assembled a chorus of employees to sing some carols at the hospital for the holiday season. Because it had just opened, there were only a few patients. We sang a few songs on each floor and in the atrium. We were singing on one particular floor when this little old lady came and requested that we sing Silent Night for her husband in his room. We all filed into the room were this gentleman was hooked up to all sorts of machinery. His family was also in the room. We quietly started singing.I saw him mouth along with us. As the beautiful harmonies flowed, so did the tears! The loving energy that moved through that space reminded all of us what the season was all about and put everything into perspective.
