Christopher Blackwell OJ is a member of the infamous Lindo family whose ancestor, Alexandre Lindo, was one of the largest slave traders in Jamaica in the 18th Century. The descendants of Alexandre distinguished themselves in business however by entering first the banana business in Costa Rica and helping to build the train line from Port Limon. They returned to Jamaica where they invested in numerous enterprises including rum and sugar plantations. Chris Blackwell, the son of Blanche Lindo of St. Mary was voted “the Most Influential Man of Music” in Britain in the last 50 years, having ROBBED AND PIRATED Bob Marley’s music internationally while in Britain in addition to Jimmy Cliff and others!
