Chua clinched top honors in the Young Birds series with his PHA-13-1306597 entry -- a blue bar hen out of Andre Colbrandt X Desmet Matthys/Jos Thone bloodline -- which recorded a speed of 1,123.079 meter per minute. Ferdinand Chua and his PHA-13-1306573 -- a blue bar hen out of Ferdinand Chua’s bloodline -- took second place with a speed of 1,118.594 meter per minute. Henry Tan and his PHA-13-1305798 -- a blue bar cock out of Battenburg X Vyvermann bloodline -- came in third with a speed of 1,113.949 meter per minute. The other top 10 Young Birds finishers are Victor Tan, Jose Torres, John Joriz, Victor Tan, Victor Tan, Jose Torres and James See. In the Old Bird class, Go Que made it two wins in a row with his PHA-13-1330108 -- a blue bar cock out of Leo Hermans X Old Line origin -- which made a speed of 1,112.815 meter per minute. Jose Torres and his PHA-13-1326790 -- a checquerd hen out of Jose Torres Line -- took second place with a speed of 1,104.899 meter per minute. Go Que’s PHA-13-1324788 -- a blue bar cock out of Jos van Den Broucke X Old Line -- wound up third with a speed of 1,104.009 meter per minute. Joining them for a podiumfinish are Henry Tan, John Joriz, John Joriz, Benito Go Que, Galang Brothers, Luis Chiu and Winston Tiu. PHA president Jaime “Jimi” Lim said a total of 231 birds out of 484 birds from 68 lofts were clocked in the Young Bird category and 172 birds out of 345 birds from 51 lofts were clocked in the Old Bird series. Racing chairman Nelson Chua said the series resumes with the sixth leg in Sariaya on March 16, the seventh leg in Tacloban City on March 22-23; and the eighth leg in McArthur on March 29-30.
