Chublet update: After being sent to a nice comfy barn north of town, Chub made himself scarce. Fearing that he would try to make the hazardous four-mile journey back to his old haunts, I ventured to the barn this morning with some raw cubed steak. From behind a feed bin, a familiar-looking feline face peered out, then vanished like a jinn in the desert. I left the steak, somewhat assured that the face belonged to Chub and that hes safe, if not entirely contented with his new surroundings. China, who went to the barn a week before Chub did, is plump and happy there.
