Chuck went to his regular doctor on Wednesday complained of a sore - TopicsExpress

Chuck went to his regular doctor on Wednesday complained of a sore right leg, with a knot in it, the doctor sent him to the hospital with an order for an ultra sound, they found an 8 inch blood clot, that started behind his knee and calf area, and proceeded down toward the ankle area. Chuck was injected with Lovenox and Coumadin and was sent home with instructions on how to give himself the injections in the stomach area and to take the Coumadin until further notice. He has to go to the Coumadin clinic, until further notice, but I just want to say “He is a very Lucky Individual”. I see riders with no helmets, and I shudder to think what would have happened if Chuck was one of those riders! We have always believed in “Expect the Unexpected” and prepare yourself for the worst scenario, and yes it’s going to hurt, but try and not get yourself into a situation you can’t get out of. Leave a space between you and others riders, cars etc. You have to watch not only for yourself, but for everyone around you. Take an extra second, do a 2nd or 3rd look, before pulling out in front of any driver. On my home last night, I was headed West on Joe Mann Blvd, and a woman had fallen off her bicycle. She had worn a dress like item and it had gotten caught in her chain. Many folks had either stopped to ask if she needed help, and she was fine, embarrassed but fine, I would have pulled over to help, but the driver behind me was so close that I couldn’t do it safely. Please folks, don’t tailgate, it makes me a very nervous driver, I had been involved in a rear end accident, and ended up with a metal cage in my neck, it isn’t a fun procedure! Give the drivers out there room, with the heat the way it has been the last few days, plan ahead, carry extra water for you or someone who might need it. Help someone you see, if they look dehydrated, or disorientated, give aid, ask questions, get involved.
