Chucks fathers funeral was held on Monday. Chuck did an excellent job coordinating the arrangements, providing a family tribute as well as a musical tribute to his father MICHAEL A. ARMSTRONG MICHAEL ANDREW ARMSTRONG was born on Thursday, June 20, 1957, in Michigan. He departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was the son of Charles R. Armstrong, Sr. and the late Ora L. Armstrong. Michael was also preceded in death by his older brother Charles Robert Armstrong, Jr. in 1979. Michael grew up in Washington, DC and Maryland. He attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy in Charlotte Hall, Maryland where he received an impressive amount of awards for academics and sports. After graduating in 1975, Michael was commissioned in the U.S. Army, where he pursued his Medical education at the Uniformed Services University of The Health Sciences, graduating in 1984. Michael received several decorations, medals, badges, and ribbons throughout his military career. He retired from the Army as a Colonel in 2006 and pursued a private career specializing in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology. Michaels greatest joy in life was his son, Charles Chuck R. Armstrong. Along with his son, Michael leaves to cherish his memory his father, Charles R. Armstrong, Sr. (Veronica), one aunt, Olivia Turner (Roy), and many cousins, friends and colleagues. Services for Michael Armstrong are set for Monday, June 2, 2014, at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church located at 3505 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20010.
