Church Fast - Day 15 Julia Blackford All to Jesus I surrender. ALL TO HIM I FREELY GIVE. I will ever love and trust him in his presence daily lived. I surrender all. I surrender all. All to thee my blessed savior I surrender all. All to Jesus I surrender. Humbly at his feet I bow. Earthly pleasures all forsaken take me Jesus take me now! Oh I surrender all! A hymn we are so familiar with and a hymn that has been around for quite sometime yet never loses its anointing! This powerful song has gripped my heart and the words have brought me to my knees before my Jesus these past couple of weeks. One line that caught my attention was ALL TO HIM I FREELY GIVE. The Holy Spirit has been teaching me about what it really means to trust in the Lord. I feel like I have been at this place in a deeper level for the past couple of years. Just when I think I have arrived at trusting him it seems I am faced with a circumstance where I have to trust even more than the last moment. This journey of learning to trust in Jesus has led me to a place of learning to trust in the sovereignty of God. Sovereignty means having supreme power or authority. Have we come to a place with our relationship with Jesus that we really trust in his sovereignty? That no matter the circumstance or situation, we trust his sovereignty enough to FREELY GIVE HIM ALL? Wether it be health, do I trust him life or death? Maybe a wayward son or daughter that we have no control over. A marriage that seems to be failing instead of thriving. A financial situation that we cant seem to climb out of. Maybe its our thought life or an attitude that we need to surrender to him. So many times I find myself trusting him but trusting him to do it my way. To heal or fix the situation my way. I cant help but think of wedding vows, the commitment a couple makes to each other on their wedding day. In sickness and in health. In good times and in bad times. Have we vowed that and made our relationship with Jesus so intimate that we are committed through it all! Since August I have been faced with a personal affliction that I have been battling. No real answers but very real fear. In Romans 12:12 It says Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer! So powerful! When we choose to FREELY GIVE IT ALL TO HIM and truly surrender we can be joyful in hope! As we are patient through our affliction or the circumstance that we face we can grow stronger in our faith and in our trust in the Lord. God is the supreme power and authority! He is sovereign over all! Lets begin to trust him with and through it all! FREELY GIVE IT ALL TO HIM! He has so much in return to give back!
