Church is becoming a habit again. And I am loving it. Attended again yesterday but this time it was the 10am mass. The parish priest is from Benue and is the same guy whose besto Gov Gabriel Suswam of Benue State stood in as best man to his cook (for 22yrs) when he got married. He told a story about a friend of his who is based in Ghana. Apparently he was in Nigeria for a wedding in the church on the 23rd of December and before he left, he told the priest that he wanted him to get married in Ghana and wanted him to officiate. The parish priest advised him to get married in Nigeria and he agreed. Before he left he gave the parish priest a cheque for N800k being N500k for the church and N300k for the priest for Christmas. The parish priest said he paid in the cheque but put it on ice. He refused to travel for christmas and resisted the temptation to dash the do me christmas folks money. As it turned out, the friend said he wont do marriage counseling because he had paid his dues to the church. The priest refused and said he must. So friend goes to another priest who agrees to his terms and goes around complaining about his priest friend that he refused to marry him despite the fact he dashed him money blah blah. On the 27th of February a mutual friend informed the priest about this.... So he dug up the copy of the cheque and went to his bank and wired the N800k he had smartly put on ice back to his friend.
