Château de la Rochefoucauld - One of the best chateau in the area - from the outside its like Sleeping Beautys castle, on the inside, like an Italianate palazzo. Lots of things to see and do, from the strange cave in the basement, through the original kitchens, up into the rooms that the Rochefoucaulds still live in. You can even dress up as medieval kings and queens and take each others pictures on the ramparts. Lots of events for kids and families in the summer, but tranquil and quiet out of season. Opening time vary depending on time of year.
