Ciaran Tierney & Kieran Allen on GAZA @ public meeting- Galway Monday next, 18th August, public meeting at 8pm in Richardsons, 1 Eyre Square, Galway:- With Israeli attacks on Gaza, how can Palestine be free? Ciaran Tierney is a well-known journalist in Galway, working for the Connacht Tribune Group. It is very rare that any journalists here voice their personal political opinions in public. Ciaran will address the meeting on his support for Gaza, what shaped his views, what role the media does & could play in the reporting of the situation for the Palestinian peoples etc... The meeting will also be addressed by Kieran Allen, a member of the Socialist Workers Party Political Committee, and a lecturer in Sociology at UCD. Kieran will follow on the political analysis of the Palestine/Israel question past & present, and future peace. The meeting will then be open for questions & general discussion. Please help build support for this meeting which will enable a better understanding of the politics behind the situation & our ability to respond to the distortions & untruths that are too often peddled. It will afford an opportunity to examine the making of the ISRAELI STATE, THE ROLE OF IMPERIALISM,PLO, FATAH & HAMAS,THE INTIFADAS, BOYCOTT/DIVESTMENT/SANCTIONS TACTICS,THE ROLE OF TRADE UNIONS & WORKERS,& more.
