Cicero says a garden & a library is everything you need - well thats me sorted. A garden to relax in & books to study. I dont ask for much out of life - except to find God. Material abundance is unnecessary; chasing wealth is bad for the soul. Prayer, meditation, reading, spiritual culture, & some social time is fine. A simple life is the best; why would you want complications? My ultimate aim is to follow the Catholic mystical threefold path, as set out in some of the saints - indeed it is my main ambition. It wasnt a difficult decision to choose the Catholic Church - Hinduism & Sufism were out of bounds, & after all it is the Western tradition. Other ambitions, some travel perhaps: Venice, Rome, & Florence, budget permitting, to view Renaissance culture. Thats about it. As I say, the simple life is the best, & nothing can compete with the love of God. My aim is to create a spiritual & cultural refuge, & strive to be the best I can, especially through prayer, the Sacraments & spiritual culture; the peace that passeth understanding, & the joy of God.
