Cindi and I just signed up for the Affordable Care Act. We - TopicsExpress

Cindi and I just signed up for the Affordable Care Act. We qualified for subsidy because at our income level we cannot afford the $1183 per month premium with Florida Blue. Since leaving Jacksonville to become caregivers, we lost our medical coverage from the jobs we gave up to come here. Because the new law does not allow insurance companies to withhold for premedical conditions, my wife was able to get full coverage , too. We now both have something we have never had in our lives -- we are both covered under the same plan for major medical and it is not costing us one dime! We have a $500 deductible on $24,000 hospitalization and a guarantee of a $4000 deductible limit if hospital costs exceed that. It fully covers all doctor visits for her, too, including check ups for both of us. The subsidy we qualified for was more than the premium, so we dont have to pay anything. We have never been covered better than this in our lives. This is with Florida Blue (formerly Blue Cross & Blue Shield).
