Cinema at Riviera Swing Just a bit of background information on Paul Cotgrove of The White Bus cinema, who runs and programs the cinema at Riviera Swing. Paul is the brother of the co-organiser Mark. He started off in the film industry in Soho in film restoration and editing; dealing with very rare and delicate prints. He won a grant to direct his first short-film. In the Hammer Horror-style and filmed in 36 mil, Green Fingers starred Hammer star, Ingrid Pitt. It got shown all over the world and has been featured in many magazines. He has since directed others, including (believe it or not) for Disney! Paul then worked for the film department for the British Council curating film festivals promoting British film around the world. He is also the secretary of the Lyndsey Anderson foundation, looking after the archive and promoting the works of one of the worlds most maverick film directors. Paul now owns the White Bus - which run the yearly and enormous Southend Film Festival (with Ray Winstone as the patron) and Horror-On-Sea festival, which has contemporary horror fans traveling from all over the world. The company also does film education, film making and script writing. They also legally-own one of the biggest archives of 16mil film in the UK. You may have read about Paul in the national (and global) news last year regarding the lost Peter Sellers films, which the company now own. So youre in safe hands with the cinema at Riviera Swing! https://facebook/153413591478415/photos/a.398548820298223.1073741909.153413591478415/398708050282300/?type=1&theater
