Circadian and cancer therapy~ Post by Cancer Research & Technology : "Research into the circadian clock of hair growth in mice could help minimize the amount of hair loss suffered by cancer patients receiving cancer therapy, and could perhaps even help minimize other forms of damage caused by human cancer therapy. Researchers have worked out the precise timing of the hair circadian clock in mice, as well as uncovering the molecules that play a role in the process. Although the results will not directly translate to human cancer therapy, it supports the idea that body organs and tissues have their own circadian clocks, and that once understood protocols could be developed that help minimize the negative side effects of treatments on normal tissues.
