Circle Theatre’s ‘Carrie’ poster makes New York Times list of best in country Caroline Cahoon | Circle Theatre GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A local graphic designer’s poster for the musical “Carrie” has caught the eye of New York Times senior theater editor Erik Piepenburg and is listed as one of the best in the country. Caroline Cahoon, art director and adjunct instructor at Cornerstone University, created the poster for the Circle Theater production. RELATED: Carrie the Musical’ to deliver bloody finale to Circle Theatre season Piepenburg writes that he “wanted to frame the piece and hang it in my home and… wanted to hop on a plane to see the show” in his article that also includes posters from around the country for shows like “Yentl” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” The image of a woman’s mouth-less face, piercing eyes, and dripping blood to resemble her hair was something he called “strikingly chic” that resembles a “vintage illustration for Bergorf Goodman” among other compliments.
