Circus Smirkus performances take about two hours and lots of little kids are in the audience. The show is in a tent, in a park, in the summer. It has lots of clowning, thrills, and funny stuff, so those kids get pretty wound up. The show is completely different each year, but the show’s directors always wisely include a “Quiet Moment”, about 3/4 of the way through the show, at that exact moment when all those kids need to sit back and take a deep breath. Watch Sarah Tiffin channel all the noise and energy in the tent, directing it into a simple bit of imaginative play.
