Cis people who want to treat trans people well and arent sure how to not be a jerk? I think maybe a good first guideline is to think of that person like you would a cis person of their gender, as if they are actually a person of that gender (because we are) and deserving of the acknowledgement and validity that a cis person of that gender (automatically) has. If theyre NB (meaning there are likely no cis people of their gender) then listen to them when they say what their gender is and try to get over your ideas that the gender binary is a real thing written on the walls of the Universe, because its not.
