City Council Requests an Extension of Public Comment Period And a Public Hearing in Long Beach for Port Ambrose LNG Project The Long Beach City Council, in its fight to ensure that residents voices are heard regarding the Port Ambrose LNG project, has requested that the United States Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the U.S. Coast Guard extend the public comment period to 90 days, and to schedule an additional public hearing in Long Beach, whereby those who will be most affected by this project will have the ability to fully consider the impacts of the proposed LNG port, and to relay their concerns on-record, in a public setting. The Draft Environmental Impact Study for the proposed liquefied natural gas terminal, Port Ambrose, has been published. The 60 day public comment period has begun and will end February 10, 2015. Please read the Long Beach City Council’s letter requesting an extension to 90 days for public comment at the link below, and submit your comments about the proposed site here: regulations.gov under docket number USCG-2013-0363.
