Please see job posting below: City Elementary, Chicago, IL, seeks lead teacher and teaching assistants for new small private therapeutic school grades K, 1, and 2 serving children with developmental differences such as Sensory Processing and Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and developmental delays. Lead teacher must have a Masters degree in Special Education and classroom experience with diverse learners and be certified to teach in the state of Illinois. Support staff must have at least a Bachelors degree in Education, Child Development or related field. For both positions, DIR/Floortime training preferred. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, experienced teacher to work with a unique, exciting new school in the city. The position will allow the right candidate the opportunity to develop curriculum and run a classroom with two assistant teachers and approximately 15 students. Teacher must have strong leadership skills, be a self starter, able to work with a team, be open to new ideas and display initiative. Lead teacher and the assistants will be part of a team with speech, occupational, and other therapists. Teacher and staff will be supported by educational, neuropsychological, developmental and other therapeutic consultants. Staff will work closely with parents and must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
