City Reminds Residents of Yard Waste Removal Requirements Post-Tornado: JACKSONVILLE, Fla., August 2, 2013 – In response to the recent tornado affecting the Arlington neighborhood, the City of Jacksonville’s Public Works Department reminds homeowners that if they hire a private contractor to remove tree limbs and debris, the private contractor is required, per Sec. 380.206 of the city ordinance code, to remove the debris. Private contractors are required to remove debris that they generate as part of their cleanup activities. This debris should not be left at the curb for city crews to pick up. Homeowners trimming and removing their own debris can leave the yard waste at curbside following the regular guidelines of yard waste set-out. Branches are not to exceed five feet in length or six inches in diameter. The regular yard waste collection schedule remains in force. For questions, please call 630-CITY (2489) or visit 630CITY.coj.net.
