City Year South Africa is a non-profit organisation, which engages a diverse group of young people between the ages of 18 - 25, in a year of full-time community service, leadership development and civic engagement. Together these young people work as tutors and mentors to grade 4 - 7 learners, in primary schools throughout Johannesburg, while simultaneously going through an intensive leadership development programme. In all it does, City Year endeavours to develop the next generation of young leaders for South Africa. A group of enthusiastic, passionate young people, who are committed to making South Africa a better place for all who live in it.
