City of Astoria 11th St CSO Separation project PROJECT UPDATE The contractor, Tapani, will continue working on 8th St between Duane and Franklin. The first lift of pavement was installed on 8th St from Commercial to the south side of Duane. This area will be open to traffic after the east sidewalk is restored, which is scheduled to be done next week. Sewer and storm pipe will be installed between Exchange and Franklin. On 10th St and 11th St, the storm pipe installation is essentially finished, so work on curbs and intersection corner ramps will continue. The waterline will be replaced on 11th St between Franklin and Grand. Construction is scheduled to begin on 12th St from Exchange to Franklin on Monday. PROJECT SCHEDULE Tapani has provided the following schedule of anticipated work for the coming week: Construction on 8th St between Commercial and Franklin. 8th St will be closed to through traffic in this area. It is likely that 8th St from Commercial to Duane will be open by the end of next week. Both the 8th St and Exchange intersection and 8th St and Franklin intersection are open for east-west traffic through the weekend, and then will likely close again next week. 10th St is closed to through traffic between Irving and Kensington. The east-west intersections in this area are open to traffic. Construction on 11th St between Franklin and Grand to install a waterline will continue next week. The road will be closed during construction and open to traffic at night. Construction on 12th St between Exchange and Franklin will begin next week. The road will be closed during construction. Next week, Tapani will work their typical schedule of Monday through Thursday (10 hour days). The week after they will work extended hours (7 am to 8 pm) from Monday, July 1st through Wednesday, July 3rd, then be off from Thursday, July 4th through Monday, July 8th.
